| Mandatory Grading as an Intervention | Mandatory grading is frowned upon as an attack on the professional autonomy of the teacher. However, when done to support grading, it can temporarily stop incorrect or abusive practices in certain contexts. It can also be a starting point for building standards and a framework. Outside of these intents or contexts, then mandatory grading does become more of a flexing of muscles and an assumption of control and should be put down immediately. |
